Learn how to use BibleBoard: create studies, annotate PDFs, place Bible passages, study Greek and Hebrew, collaborate in real time, and lead your group.
Studies is a page you write: it reads top to bottom, and page breaks turn it into slides — for preparing a lesson, leading a group, or daily reading. Mindmaps is a board you arrange: an open canvas where you place passages, notes, and reference works anywhere and draw the connections between them. Both live in one library and share the same Scripture tools.
Sign up free with email, Google, or YouVersion. Start a study from your library, or switch to the Mindmaps tab and press New mindmap.
Type "/" to insert blocks: passages, headings, callouts, tables, images, and bookmarks. Passages render verse-by-verse with optional interlinear Greek and Hebrew. Present fullscreen and let your group follow along live. An outline rail jumps between headings and passages, related maps pin the places a passage names, song blocks hold lyrics and chords you can transpose, and studies import from Word, Google Docs, or Markdown and export as PDF, HTML, or Markdown.
New mindmap opens on Start your mindmap: pick Compare translations, Arc a passage, Trace a theme, or Word study and the board builds itself, or start from scratch. Three places to look: the left rail (Add, Search, Assistant, Comments, Settings) brings things onto the board; the bottom toolbar draws, annotates, and adds shapes; the passage bar appears when you select a passage and works inside the text. A three-step tour shows each on first use.
Under Add, type a reference to place a passage. The passage bar has Look up, Highlight, Arrows, Layers, Layout, the reference, the translation, and More. Look up a word for its definition, concordance, and cross-references. Layout sets the text: text or bracket view, paragraph, verse or sentence line breaks, interlinear Greek and Hebrew, and verse numbers. Compare puts a second translation beside the first. Show advanced tools adds diagrams, grammar-based line breaks, and morphology rows.
Highlight on layers you can show, hide, and copy between passages. Draw arrows between words with a note on each. Arc and bracket a passage with 18 relationships in four families: coordinate, restatement, distinct, and contrary. Connect any two shapes with an arrow you label yourself. Notes, tables, cloud callouts, frames, and a laser pointer for teaching.
Under Add: Reference holds creeds, confessions, catechisms, commentaries, and lexicons in one searchable list; Maps places Bible maps; Images keeps the pictures you reuse. Boards can also sit on top of an uploaded PDF.
Open in a mindmap turns a study’s passage into a board, with its highlights. Send to a study adds a board’s passage to the end of a study, with a link back.
Read any chapter free at /read. Set the text the way you read: poetry or six line layouts, verse numbers and passage titles on or off, and your own font, size, leading, and word spacing in a reading column or full width. Search the whole Bible in the version you are reading with ⌘K, or jump straight to a reference like jn 3:16, 1 cor 13, or salmo 23:1-6 in English or Spanish; ⌘F finds words inside the open chapter. Share a chapter with a link that keeps its translation (/read/john-3?v=RVR), previewed as a card with the opening of the passage. Listen to the narrated Berean Standard Bible or an on-device AI voice, and turn sermon recordings into timestamped transcripts.
Follow the M’Cheyne Calendar, the Bible in a Year, a Psalm and a Proverb a day, or Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening. Keep to the calendar or start from day 1 on your own date. Each day opens as a study you can tick off, listen to, or save. Read with a group through one invite link, each in your own translation, see the week’s progress, and get a daily reminder by email or push.
Connect Planning Center Services under Settings → Integrations. Search your song library, pick an arrangement and key, and import a whole service plan as a set list of headings, songs, and notes.
