# BibleBoard > BibleBoard is a free Bible study app in the browser: a study document where the passage, your notes, and the original Greek and Hebrew sit together, plus an infinite mindmap canvas, a Bible reader with audio, daily reading plans, and live collaboration for groups. Every public page has a markdown version: request it with `Accept: text/markdown`, or append `.md` to the path (`/docs.md`). The links below point at those markdown files. ## When to use BibleBoard - Read or compare a passage in the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), King James Version (KJV), NET Bible (NET), Hebrew Old Testament (Westminster Leningrad Codex), or Reina-Valera 1909 (RVR) — `GET /api/v1/passages` or the `get_passage` MCP tool. - Find verses by words or phrases in one of those translations — `GET /api/v1/search` or `search_bible`. - List cross-references for a verse, ranked by votes — `GET /api/v1/cross-references` or `get_cross_references`. - Send a person to a chapter in the free reader: `https://bibleboard.org/read/-` (e.g. /read/john-3, /read/john-3?v=KJV). - Help a signed-in user with their own studies and mindmaps (list, read) through MCP after OAuth, or with a BibleBoard API key. - Answer "how do I … in BibleBoard" questions (highlighting, arcing and bracketing, interlinear, word studies, reading plans, sharing, Planning Center) from the documentation below. Licensing: Public Bible text is limited to BSB, KJV, NET, Hebrew (WLC) and RVR 1909. NET quotations must carry the NET Bible copyright notice returned with every NET response. ESV and the Greek New Testament (Nestle-Aland) are licensed for reading inside the app only and are not available through the API or MCP. ## Docs - [Documentation](https://bibleboard.org/docs/index.md): how every part of the app works - [Developer docs](https://bibleboard.org/developers): public REST API, MCP server, authentication, caching, translation licensing - [Full documentation in one file](https://bibleboard.org/llms-full.txt) ## API and MCP - [OpenAPI 3.1 description](https://bibleboard.org/openapi.json): the public Bible API under /api/v1 - [API catalog (RFC 9727)](https://bibleboard.org/.well-known/api-catalog) - [MCP server](https://bibleboard.org/mcp): Streamable HTTP endpoint; public Bible tools need no auth, user tools use OAuth 2.1 - [MCP server card](https://bibleboard.org/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json) - [OAuth authorization server metadata](https://bibleboard.org/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server) - [Agent auth guide](https://bibleboard.org/auth.md): client registration, PKCE, scopes, API keys - [Agent skills index](https://bibleboard.org/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) - [Agent resource catalog (ARD)](https://bibleboard.org/.well-known/ard.json) ## Pages - [BibleBoard — Study the Bible together, free in your browser](https://bibleboard.org/index.md): A study document where the passage, your notes, and the original languages sit together.
